Preparing for Our Future

Prototype of a 21st century classroom.

For almost 100 years PCC has provided high-quality, affordable education and career training to students in the San Gabriel Valley. To maintain this level of excellence and accessibility, the PCC Board of Trustees voted unanimously to place a local college facilities improvement bond measure on the November 2022 ballot.

If approved by 55% of local voters, the measure will provide $565 million in locally controlled funding for:

– Repair or replace leaky roofs, old rusty plumbing and faulty electrical systems
– Keep computer systems and instructional technology up to date
– Provide modern science labs and career training facilities to prepare students for in-demand careers
– Upgrade older buildings so they meet current health and safety codes Provide proper access for students with disabilities
– Upgrade classrooms and facilities to support high quality instruction in science, technology, engineering, math and computer science
– Repair or replace outdated electrical, water and irrigation systems to improve energy efficiency and water conservation
– Upgrade labs and classrooms to help local students complete their first two years affordably and transfer to Cal State or UC
– Remove hazardous materials like asbestos and lead pipes from older buildings

– Improve student safety and campus security by upgrading lighting, intruder protection and emergency communication systems, smoke detectors and fire alarms.

“PCC is a great treasure in our community. It has a tremendous cultural and economic impact, and it produces well-trained graduates and transfers who go on to contribute to the entire San Gabriel Valley. Because of its scholarships and affordable tuition, the College provides real opportunities for individuals who otherwise wouldn’t be able to get a college education. It’s a boost to our community in every way, and by supporting and investing in this bond measure, we can ensure that PCC is made better and well prepared for the 21st century.”
