“As a first-generation college student, I truly cherish the opportunities that I am presented with which allow me to continue my college career,” Selina reflected.  “My long-term goal is to earn an MD/PhD.  I wish to solve real world problems, specifically problems in sustainability and human health, through my education.”

During her time at PCC, Selina has received six scholarships totaling $10,000.  She is a two time recipient of the  President’s Latino Advisory Committee Scholarship as well as the Robert Westerbeck Scholarship.  For the latter, she was a top scholar during Fall 2019.

As she prepares for her next step, Selina has received yet another scholarship from the College Women’s Club of Pasadena.  The announcement was recently featured in the Pasadena Now.  You can read that article HERE.Selina Pacheco top scholar PCC

Selina has the opportunity now to not only pursue her academic dreams and goals, but continue to support her family as she has done for years now.  “Berkeley selected me as one of their  Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar which is an amazing privilege that comes with amazing perks. This scholarship will allow me to continue taking care of my family and continue doing what I am passionate about – learning, research, and working with under served youth and communities.”
